# Java, Brick by Brick — English translation

All 31 chapters and all eight activity collections from the Italian Java 25 revision have been translated in full. The translation preserves the source prose, pedagogical repetitions, boxes, tables, captions, examples, exercises and reasoned solutions. Examples and diagram labels are adapted to English consistently. Historical Italian cover lettering is retained as historical evidence.

The complete 403-page volume is available in `output/Java-Brick-by-Brick-Java25-Complete.docx` and `output/Java-Brick-by-Brick-Java25-Complete.pdf`; the assembled English manuscript is alongside them. Earlier C01–C02 fascicles are partial artifacts and are superseded by this complete edition. The final check on 9 October 2026 corrected 13 paired passages in eight chapters, including the distinction between an atomic operation and conditional CAS, the explanation of `@SafeVarargs`, and references to absent or mismatched illustrations. Concluding activities now follow the advanced activities, matching the Italian reading order. All 39 contents entries and chapter destinations have verified page references, all 156 code listings remain present, and no empty pages or text beyond the checked page bounds were found. The [current report](../revisione-java-25/verifiche/controllo-finale-2026-10-09/rapporto.md) records the scope and evidence; `qa/complete-edition-verification.json` identifies the current artifacts.

The paired coverage file `coverage-assembled.json` contains 3,049 source and translation blocks across all 39 units. `scripts/audit_translation.py` checks unit presence, block roles, table rows, assets and source hashes. The final check compiled and ran 26 selected Italian and English programs with JDK 25 without warnings; it also checked the bridge method, atomic increments, CAS, and absent properties. This supports the specific corrections and structural preservation. It does not establish comprehension for the whole book: GP, GC and the remaining local editorial gates stay open pending their required evidence, including an independent reader.

The 6 October revision of 70 paragraphs remains documented in `qa/editorial-autonomy-2026-10-06.json`. Its hashes and visual evidence refer to that earlier artifact and are retained as history. The October 9 visual comparison explicitly reuses matching page bodies from that verified baseline and records a new review of every changed page body.

Run `scripts/build_full.py` with the bundled Python runtime to rebuild the complete DOCX and English manuscript. Render with the documents skill renderer, then run `scripts/update_toc_pages.py` on the PDF and rebuild if page references changed. `scripts/audit_render.py` checks preserved code listings and page bounds. Final delivery also requires a visual review of every rendered page.

`prepare_translation.py` is a baseline preparation script that resets manifest statuses; do not rerun it on a completed edition without reconciling the verified progress afterward.
